Elmore Leonard, 82, poses at his home in Bloomfield Hills, MI, Thursday, April 24, 2008. Called “Dutch” by friends and fans, Leonard has published 28 novels since 1953. Bio: I have been teaching photojournalism at CMU since 2022. I graduated with a BAA in Journalism with an Emphasis in News Photography from CMU in 1991, worked as a staff photographer at The Newport Daily News (RI) until 1998, received my MAA in Photojournalism from the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University in 2000, won Michigan Press Photographers Association’s Photographer of the Year in 2000. With extensive experience as a working photojournalist, I evolved to become a regular contract photographer for General Motors. Checkout samples of my work here and my CV is here.

I was lucky and talented enough that various picture editors shared my name and work to where my photography has been published in numerous newspapers, magazines and books including, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, National Geographic, Newsweek, US News and World Report, USA TODAY, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times.

The photojournalism program at CMU is one of the top in the nation. As a graduate of CMU’s Journalism program, I am extremely proud to teach the next generation of photojournalists.
