JRN 420 Photography Studio Techniques

This assignment brings together your best work from class. Your portfolio is a statement about yourself. It is one of the main elements in which potential employers will judge you. It will consist of your best five photos taken from assignments and two additional photos.

Directions:

  • You may (and in many case you probably should) re-shoot any of the five assignments from this semester.
  • You should clearly show your ability to control light in the studio and on location.
  • Post your additional photos on your blog.

Turn in:

  • A quality presentation of your portfolio including:
    • A portfolio cover that includes your best photo along with your name.
    • Include the cover photo in your portfolio
    • Captions for each photo.
    • A quality bound portfolio.
    • Use any combination of your best five photos taken by you for assignments during the semester for this class, and two additonal photos from your outtakes. For a total of seven.

Producing your portfolio:

  • One option for producing your portfolio can be done through Kopy Korner at 2210 South Mission Street, 989-773-7343.
  • Portfolios must be 8½ x 11 inches (vertical or horizontal).

Due Date

  • Final portfolios are due at exam time: Monday, December 8.
  • Late portfolios will not be accepted.

Grading:

You will be graded on your portfolio presentation and all of your images. Extra weight will be given to your two additional photos.

 400 points 

Please make an extra portfolio for yourself.
